AVVA leader Irene guides discussion on Fallen Heroes Ride for Hope

“As I was growing up, in the years after World War I, everyone was intensely patriotic. We learned it at home, at church and  in the local shops and dusty streets of our little community, the smallest of small towns in the Red River Valley  ( of North Dakota).  Schools too, were learning grounds of patriotism.  We heard many stories of local citizens’ military service,  their heroism, their battle wounds and other afflictions.  We learned from all this to love our country with a passion, above all but God and family.”
